Once upon a time the Screen Queen ventured off her throne to write inspirational and empowerment articles for women’s magazines under her civilian name, Lois Cahall.  www.loiscahall.com  Her articles have appeared in Hearst magazines (Seventeen, Marie Claire, Redbook) and Conde Nast magazines (SELF, Bon Appetit) as well as Ladies Home Journal, Men’s Journal, and Readers Digest. In the UK Cahall writes for Psychologies, RED and The London Times. 

In 2012 her first novel Plan C: Just in Case (Bloomsbury) was #1 on eBooks in the UK, before selling internationally in hardcover.  It remained in the top three ‘daily deals’ for the year, again topping #1 in America, July 2014, as the Nook Daily Deal.  The book was edited by Simon Beaufoy, who won the Oscar and Golden Globe for Slumdog Millionaire.   Cahall’s second book (novella) Court of the Myrtles,  also from Bloomsbury, has been called “A Tuesday’s with Morrie on estrogen” – Ladies Home Journal.  

In 2015 Cahall Founded and remains the Creative Director of the Palm Beach Book Festival.  It is an annual event in Palm Beach County Florida, that brings in NY Times best-selling and celebrity authors to discuss their novels, memoirs, and books to film.  In 2016 an Oprah Book Club Panel was added, headed by Leigh Haber, Oprah’s book editor.  James Patterson is the Festival’s Honorary Chairman. 

In 2021 (Memorial Day weekend) Screen Queen decided to hang up her hat (her crown) and focus on her writing as well as being named the Creative Director of James Patterson Entertainment.  Exhale. It’s all good.   She’s back in New YOrk. 

When not in Manhattan, Screen Queen can be found in Europe – mainly London or Paris – where she escapes (usually by horse-drawn carriage) to frolic and cavort with fellow royalty. Wink.  She wishes.  Instead the Screen Queen is usually found working at her desk where she eats a turkey sandwich with avocado. Everything can be solved with avocado.
