First there was Independence Day, then there was I Am Legend which was Will Smith against the world. Now it’s After Earth. Or in other words, Will Smith’s real life son (Jaden Smith) left out in the wild to die against the world! Somebody really ought to call the DSS (Dept of Social Services) instead of see this really bad film. Makes Prometheus look good! And that’s nearly impossible.
Young Smith can certainly act and we know that from Karate Kid 2, but daddy Smith is so monotone in his dull performance of a dying father shouting commands to his cadet son with advice that “Danger is real, fear is a choice.” I wish I chose to skip this film. ♛
