Beautiful Montana (Paula Patton) is a a flight attendant not to mention always a bridesmaid never a bride. But she pours her lonely heart out to her single neighbor….her high school best friend William (Derek Luke). She looks like a cross between J Lo and Sofia Vergara and her friends have figured out a way to find her a mate. The plan is that since they work for the airlines, they will arrange 30 flights in 30 days to fly Montana to her ex boyfriend’s just in case the good one got away. Of course we know where this predictable plot is headed, but we’ll have to go thru 96 minutes and a lot of frequent flier miles for her to figure out the guy next door is the one.
But the film surprises us with Montana’s amusing men. It’s the type of plot to sustain a couple hours if you’re looking to get some good laughs instead of drowning in a tub of Ben & Jerry’s. Taye Diggs and Djimon Hounsou play a couple of the entertaining men along the way but it’s a tiny dog named Juicy that steals the film with ridiculousness. The movie focuses on the shallow world of material wealth, and just as we’re about to give up on Montana who seeks an anybody over a somebody, she begins to turn around and see what’s right in front of her. ♕ ♚ ♛
