We’ve all had one of these despicable bosses….The Psycho, Dave (Kevin Spacey) is a sadistic boss who dispenses bullet advice and you-need-to-earn-it slogans, to his devoted employee Nick (Jason Bateman. Nick has long been awaiting a promotion to Senior VP but just lost it. Then there’s The Tool, Bobby Pellit(an unrecognizable Colin Farrell) who has just taken over daddy (Donald Sutherland’s) company, planning to run it into the ground despite years of hard work from employee Kurt (Jason Sudeikis). And finally the sexual harassment employer – a dentist, Dr. Julia Harris (Jennifer Aniston) – who won’t let up on hygienist, Dale (Charlie Day.) Not that having Jennifer Anniston chase any man around an office should be a problem but you might find yourself thinking “Did I just hear Jennifer Anniston really say that?” Hand’s down the funniest, smartest and
nastiest movie since Tropic Thunder these Three Stooges style bumbling actors – Bateman, Sudeikis and Day – come off as
performers from a nineties-style Farrelly Brothers film. Even if the plot seems hideous, the performances certainly make up for it as three career-caring men who turn out to be hopeless assassins. Proof that yet yet another plot of middle-aged group of “normal” men also trying to be understood and ultimately behaving badly is what seems to be the genre of choice in Hollywood circa 2009-2011. But the science seems to be they don’t want to be behaving badly and they find themselves doing this “What do we do now?” panic. Horrible Bosses certainly gives The Hangover a run for its money. Jamie Foxx is hilarious as the “hit man” whose name “Mother____er Jones” and matching attitude will have you rolling in the aisles. Four tiaras
