This R rated summer comedy is brought to us by the Judd Apatow, famous for “40 Year Old Virgin” so you know it’s going to be funny from the get-go. This time a sophisticated working girl, Alison (“Grey’s Anatomy’s” Katherine Heigl) celebrates her newscaster promotion with her sister, Debbie (Leslie Mann) who’s married to Jay (Jay Baruchel) that she nags at 24/7. At this particular bar one thing leads to another and she finds herself on the dance floor and then in bed with a charming guy, Ben (Seth Rogen). Charming until she wakes up the morning after and realizes what a loser he really is. An unemployed, pothead, who doesn’t even have a cell phone to call her, it gets really bad when she finds out 8 weeks later that she’s carrying his child. This delightfully funny movie is not so much about the art of the one-night-stand –we’ve all been there – but more the issues of ‘growing up’ and coming to terms with real love and what life is all about. A brilliantly funny script that will have you laughing until the final moment when you too, will cry in the delivery room. Three Tiaras
