….might be just the perfect and festive movie for a silly break from all those Oscar-worthy contenders. Queen Latifah plays a sort of narrating Angel of Christmas while Terrence Howard counteracts with his miserable bah humbug spirit. The story centers around an adorable little girl who tells the Santa at the mall (Morris Chestnut) that her one wish is a man to compliment and notice her over-worked single mother (Gabrielle Union.) Seems mom was married to rapper J Jizzy (Charles Q. Murphy) a generic portrayal of a P Diddy or any American rapper who is all about his “Ho Ho Ho’s” if you catch my drift, and not in the Christmas spirit. The movie’s dialog is certainly original, the coincidences ridiculous and the character’s ‘off’ but hilarious. Yet somehow, despite its mediocre charm, it manages to resonate a sort of holiday spirit just right for a light-weight break from Christmas shopping. Two tiaras
