While Ewan McGregor and Eva Green are gorgeous to watch on the big screen, somehow their silly little premise just isn’t. The story seems to put the cart before the horse, in a tale of a chef (him) and an epidemiologist (her). They reside in Glasgow where a huge outbreak is challenging the public to maintain their sense of taste, sight, smell, etc. A brilliant premise of asking the question “Can we love if we can’t utlize the five senses?” but too much is shoved down our throats too soon (while we can still, um, taste.) Sort of a silly “Twilight” meets “Top Chef” if the two cult existences birthed a film. Or maybe that would be Children of Men, a similar sci-fi flick. Two tiaras
