Jessse Eisenberg steps out of Social Network stardom to a role equally as nerdy but a bit more fun. In this he nervously voices Blu, a small town domesticated macaw from Minnesota, who spreads his wings on a wild birdie adventure to Rio. His owner, Linda (Leslie Mann) runs a bird sanctuary and when one thing leads to another and some smugglers capture him, he finds himself away in the land of exotic Brazilian colors, soccer, and carnivale. His unwilling companion is another blue bird named Jewel (Anne Hathaway) who’s not happy about a partner who occasionally tinkles in the bird bath, picks his beak, but more importantly…he can’t fly. Along the way they meet all types of silly and original characters voiced by Tracy Morgan, Jane Lynch and George Lopez. But the best part of this south of the border romp is the soundtrack, and that’s probably due to the fact that some of their voices are performed by none other than Jamie Foxx and William I Am.
