Nelson Moss (Keanu Reeves) and Sara Deever (Charlize Theron) have nothing in common except an hour spent in DMV hell. She’s a charming spirit who brings out the best in men. He’s a workaholic executive whose only intimate relationship is with the bottom line — until he meets Sara. Intrigued by each other, but not quite ready to commit, they settle on a unconventional courtship: a one month trial, after which they’ll go their separate ways. No strings attached. What neither counted on was falling in love. While the film attempts to seize the moment and make the absolute most of every life moment, it fails with the charm of holiday’s “Family Man” (Nicolas Cage had chemistry with Tea Leoni) and falls more in the category of last year’s romantic “Bounce” with Ben Affleck and Gweynth Paltrow. Except Bennie and Gwennie have chemistry too. Reeves should stick to “Matrix” flicks while we stick to wristwatch checking.
