The story tells of an eight year old boy at the Tehran Institute for Blind Children who eagerly returns home for the summer. Mohammad’s sister and grandmother are delighted to see him again, but his bitter father worries that the blind boy will present an obstacle to his plans to remarry thus contemplating removal from the family home. Of the story directed by Majid “Children of Heaven” Majidi: “The film as a whole is an act of unadulterated faith in a world where a father allows his children to doubt his love.”
