(Rated PG, 88 mins.) Torn apart by the perils of their own success: ego, jealousy, and a little too much honey, the Country Bears (based on the popular Disney theme park show) are back together to film their first major motion picture. In order to save the Country Bear Jamboree hall, Beary Barrington (voice of Haley Joel Osment) suggests a benefit performance to save the day from bad guy (Christopher Walken) who wants to put an end to them. Featuring music and appearances by real-life Don Henley, Elton John, Queen Latifah and Willie Nelson. While the movie will entertain wee-folks with its classic puppetry style characters, it’s amazing they (the bears) are a species of their own. They are the ONLY animals that exist in this movie. The audience both in the film and viewing the movie, are human. Walken is good as the bad guy but don’t expect Oscar notoriety. This isn’t “The Deer Hunter” or “Headless Horseman” roles.
