(rated PG)
Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble ride again in a pre-quel to their lives. Having just graduated school, they have landed their first jobs at the rock quarry in Bedrock (you know; that place where Fred jumps in his bottomless car at the day’s end to rush home to Wilma). But, in this story (before the story), Wilma has her life pre-arranged by her well to do mother who has a man that drives a “Cadirock” and was a first classman at “Princestone” for Wilma’s future hubby. The premise gets a little rocky as Fred, Barney and Wilma move their usual Bedrock story to tacky eternally happy, gambling life of “Rock Vegas” where one can quickly wed. Of course Wilma must decide between money and true love. I think we know the end result as it turned into a very famous 1960’s cartoon for television which later bore us Bam Bam and Pebbles. But, never the less, director Brian Levant works his magic again as he has in previous live action Yabba daba doo flicks.
